Kara is a is a small team of handloom enthusiasts, a creative venture with a social cause: they are certified by the Fair Trade Forum of India. Since 2008 their exclusively designed and hand-woven textiles ( bath towels and robes, table and kitchen linens) use a finely woven cotton towel material called “thorthu”, traditionally used as an ayurvedic body-wipe fabric. Kara works only with weaving and tailoring co-operatives locally in Kerala: good design and ethical business practices, thumbs up!
