Per iniziare bene il lunedi post vacanze estive, una buona notizia per gli amanti dell’ affascinante attrice e cantante francese Charlotte Gainsbourg, rullo di tamburi… Esce oggi il nuovo EP , con il nome di “Terrible Angels”, disponibile solo in vinile e CD.
Il lavoro anticipa solo di qualche giorno l’uscita del nuovo album “Stage Whisper”, prevista per mercoledi 7 novembre. Sicuramente il lavoro risulterà molto interessante visto che vanta la collaborazione di artisti musicali del calibro di Beck, Conor O’Brien of Villagers, Noah and the Whale e il bravissimo Connan Mockasin. Staremo a vedere, nel frattempo godiamo il video.

Diciamoci la verità, molti di noi li hanno dimenticati dai tempi di Californication in poi. Quel disco è e rimane il simbolo di un’estate (era il 1999) e di un’epoca. E da allora i Red Hot Chili Peppers non ci hanno più riconquistati. Estate 2011, Jack Frusciante è uscito di nuovo dal gruppo, proprio all’alba di un nuovo disco. Non se ne sentiva parlare dal 2006 quando uscì “Stadium Arcadium”. Il nuovo album sarà datato 30 Agosto e si chiamerà “I’m with you“, intanto però i Red Hot Chili Peppers ci regalano un assaggio con il primo singolo “The adventures of rain dance maggie“(in ascolto appena qui sopra).

Con “In Love With Oblivion” si è in pieno smarrimento spazio-temporale. I Crystal Stilts combinano efficientemente le sonorità proprie dell’indie garage e i toni tipici della dark wave britannica ad un sound ovattato all’estremo. Ne deriva un album dall’atmosfera psichedelica e dalle melodie fluttuanti e distorte. In “Flying Into The Sun” e in “Shake The Shackles” quella voce indolente, smarrita, inebriante di Brad Hargett è alquanto ammaliante.

The iPad has opened up a world of wonders for portable music creation for artists around the world, with a wide variety of apps available to make music creation a cinch. However, many of these apps have had the all important prerequisite of actually knowing how to make music. For those of us that couldn’t recognize a simple chord progression to save our lives but want to make some nifty music, there’s RGBSOUND. This sequencer app offers a variety of simple electronic beats and notes to play. It’s possible to just randomly flail about to make a bunch of noise at first, but then the the ability to start loops, modify the speed of loops, volume, and pitch, all through simple gesture-based controls.
